I have been a client of Mountain State Insurance for longer than I can recall, but I’m confident it has been well over a decade. To me as a “customer”, insurance pricing is at best arcane and nearly impossible to quantify. Given that, absent some form of more competitive pricing (often at the hidden loss of coverage), probably the only deciding factor in choosing an agent is customer service. I have been known to say, I am loyal to a fault. That said, I recall very well my prior agency with whom I also had a long-term relationship and the reason for changing to Mountain State. It was simply an issue of customer service that had deteriorated in the wake of a buy-out by a much larger institution. Mountain State, however, seems to deem customer service a priority and I find it difficult to put a price on that.
